A Few Examples of Work We Do To Serve the 7th District:
Amelia County: assisted a constituent with SSA disability application and appeal. The application was expedited due to hospitalization. The disability was approved, payments initiated and back pay to date of onset secured.
Chesterfield County: assisted an immigrant from China when her husband died and the government canceled her I-485 (green card petition). She was very concerned about being deported and her child is a citizen. Congressman Brat sent a letter to USCIS and had her petition reopened and soon after her petition was approved and she is a Legal Permanent Resident.
Goochland County: successfully advocated for the Marine Corps to convert the Goochland High School NDCC program to an MCJROTC unit. This prevented their cadet program from being defunded. Our constant contact with the Marine Corps ensured a fair consideration and ultimately a successful outcome.
Henrico County: worked to obtain Bronze Medal and had ceremony for a WWII veteran.
Orange County: assisted with the Orange County/Schools USAC/FCC grant application to increase access to broadband. We were given an award notice for $1M. With local matching funds, this allows for installation of 33 miles of fiber connecting all county schools, administration, E911, and the sheriff’s office.
Spotsylvania County: working closely with Spotsylvania County in order to facilitate fair bid process for recently announced new VA outpatient facility to be built in the region. This will be the largest of 40 authorized facilities to be built in the US. Additionally, my office assisted a service connected disabled Marine with refund in excess of $11,660 which was improperly withheld by the IRS.
If we can assist you with dealing with a federal agency (casework), a tour when you visit Washington or answer your questions about issues before Congress, please do not hesitate to contact me.
