Dear Friend,

The past two weeks have been very busy as I have been meeting with my constituents and community leaders to discuss their needs and answer questions. In fact, last week alone I met with over 1,000 constituents in over 35 meetings all around the district. I look forward to bringing these discussions back to Washington to continue to work on behalf of the entire 7th Congressional District of Virginia.

I have also started my "Chats with Brat" where I travel around the district to meet with constituents in local spots to discuss all of the issues at hand. These meetings are open to the pubic, and I invite all of my constituents to come out and chat with me. I held three chats in Culpeper, Chesterfield, and Powhatan where we discussed health care, the economy, taxes, education, and more. You can see some photos of the events below:

I also spoke with Chris Cuomo on CNN's New Day to talk about health care, and was able to teach Cuomo a little bit about the history of free-market economics. Click on the photo below to watch the full interview.

I really enjoyed stopping around Henrico to speak to the folks at Westminster Canterbury and the Henrico Rotary Club, and also got out to see the Powhatan Ruritan Club where we spoke about the work I am doing in Congress. I also got to meet with the Virginia Fusion Center in Chesterfield which shares information related to terrorism and crime. They are critical in the efforts to keep central Virginians and every American safe.

I want to thank Patriot Aluminum in Louisa, VA for taking me on a tour of their incredible facility. About half of Patriot Aluminum's employees are veterans, and I am proud of the work they do in the district. I also want to congratulate Lake of the Woods in Orange, VA on their 50th Anniversary! It was great to be there on such a special occasion.

It was truly a privilege to meet with Cole Sydnor, a senior at the University of Richmond. Cole is a C5 quadriplegic due to a diving accident, but spends his free time coaching the Sportable Spokes wheelchair basketball team and volunteers with VCU's Trauma Survivor Network where he helps newly injured patients and educates others about the dangers of diving in order to prevent other spinal cord and brain injuries. He also founded Roll with Cole which seeks to foster active, healthy, and accessible lifestyles for the disabled within the Commonwealth of Virginia. I am so proud of the impact that Cole has made on the community and his mother Kelly who helps Cole make it all possible.
