WASHINGTON, D.C. – Reacting to the Labor Department’s April Jobs and Wages Report published today, which reported that unemployment has fallen to 3.9% -- the lowest it’s been in almost two decades -- Rep. Brat released the following statement:

“Republican tax reform empowered employers to hire new employees and offer competitive wages for jobs that need to be filled. In my district, I recently sat down with two business owners who both explained they have been able to hire five new full-time employees since December as a result of tax reform.

“There is no question this record low is due to the optimism businesses have in the economy as a result of tax reform.”
