Washington (May 15, 2015)-- Statement from Congressman Dave Brat (R-VA) on the House's Passage of Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act:

“I was encouraged that the House passed the Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act (H.R. 2297), which imposes U.S. sanctions on financial institutions that intentionally facilitate transactions for the terrorist organization Hezbollah or its affiliates.  The U.S. Department of the Treasury designates the Iran-supported, anti-Israel Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, and we should be doing all that we can to cut off the flow of money and, therefore, reduce the impact of such an organization.”
