HENRICO, Va. — Chairman Phil Roe (TN-01) and Rep. Dave Brat (VA-07) hosted a public town hall hosted by Henrico County to discuss how Congress is helping veterans.

The town hall highlighted the success of the VA MISSION Act, a landmark piece of veterans legislation that was signed into law by the president earlier this year. Chairman Roe was the author of the VA MISSION Act.

"I’m grateful for Rep. Brat and his steadfast efforts to support our nation’s veterans, and it was a pleasure meeting and speaking with so many of the veterans in Dave’s district,” said Chairman Roe. “This Congress we have had over two dozen veterans bills signed into law by President Trump, including the VA MISSION Act. As Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I remain committed to continuing to ensure that all veterans receive the support and services they deserve, and I thank Rep. Brat for his leadership on behalf of veterans in the 7th district."

“I thank Chairman Roe for generously coming to Richmond to highlight some of the successes we’ve been able to achieve for veterans in this Republican-controlled Congress. When I assumed the role of Representative for Virginia’s 7th District, I knew that 54,685 veterans in my district would depend on me and my team for assistance. From the outset, I made serving our veterans a priority,” said Rep. Brat. “Since I came to Congress, my office has handled over 350 case inquiries in the past three years. Together, we have been able to help scores of military families cut through red tape and receive the care and recognition they deserve.”

There were approximately 70 individuals in attendance at the forum.
